The consortium of the LEAMAN project invites you take part in the
Innovative Leather Product Competition!
The purpose of the Competition is to promote innovative leather products, services, solutions or technologies and inspire interested stakeholders’ creativity.
Participants to the competition will be asked to share ideas and brainstorm for creating innovative leather products. At the multiplier event in Romania, the ideas of innovative leather products will be presented and participants to the multiplier event will be invited to vote online.
§ 1. Purpose of the Competition
1.1. The purpose of the Competition is to promote innovative leather products, services, solutions or technologies and inspire interested stakeholders’ creativity.
§ 2. Consortium of the Competition
2.1. The Competition has been announced by the

INCCTP – ICPI Institutul National de Cercetare-Cezvoltare Pentru Textile si Pielarie, Bucarest, Romania
INESCOP – Instituto Tecnologico del Calzado y Conexas, Alicante, Spain
VC – Virtual Campus Lda, Porto, Portugal
2.2. Foundation for Promotion of Entrepreneurship will run the Competition on behalf of the partners.
§ 3. Submission
3.1. Participants are required to submit their submissions based on the application forms and competition rules.
3.2. Participants must submit their application forms (stage 1) via the Virtual Challenge Community platform before the due date on 15.03.2018 and prepare business plans (stage 2) before the due date on 31.05.2018 and presentations (stage 3) before the due date on 06.06.2018. Participants will receive the e-mail address to submit their business plans and presentations.
3.3. The third stage consists of presenting the idea on VCC platform and on partners websites.
3.4. Stage 4 includes online voting for the best ideas and will take place between
7-30.06.2018. Three projects with the highest score will be awarded.
3.5. Stage 5 concerns announcement of the results at the meeting in Poland on 5.07.2018 and on partners websites and VCC platform.
3.6. In stage 6 three the best projects will be submitted to Indiegogo.com platform.
3.7. The ownership and the Intellectual Property Rights (IP) involved in the submission remain with the Participant.
3.8. FPE shall not be responsible for any IPR disputes.
§ 4. General rules
4.1. Participation in this Competition is free of charge.
4.2. The Competition is open for all interested stakeholders from partners countries: Greece, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Romania and Spain.
4.3. The Competition is available for leather ideas: products, technologies or services (in the frame of leather industry).
4.4. Individuals or team groups (as Participants) can participate in this competition.
4.5. Each participant may submit no more than 3 solutions.
4.6. Each participant must describe a new or improved product (not currently commercialized).
§ 5. Prizes
5.1. All Participants who have submitted their ideas per the Competition Rules will receive a “Certificate of Participation”. The five best projects receive a diploma. Three winners or winning groups (in accordance with p. 3.4) of Innovative leather product competition receive support to launch their crowdfunding campaign through www.indiegogo.com. Support consists in giving tips to the winners for describing their projects in a way that enables them submission to the Indiegogo.com.
5.2. Money raised to the campaign will be totally at the disposal of the winners; the winners should follow the Indiegogo rules.
5.3. FPE shall not be responsible for not collecting adequate funds during the Indiegogo campaign.
§ 6. Stages of the Competition
6.1. The Idea – Stage 1
6.1.1. Participants will complete the online application form (1A. Application form for idea originators) on the Virtual Challenge Community platform. It must contain the following information:
– project title,
– short description of the project – 300 characters maximum including spaces and punctuation,
– 3 key words,
– project-specific area,
– stage of project development,
– type of innovation,
– information whether the participant is looking for partners to her/his project and, if yes, in what area or specialisation.
6.1.2. Interested stakeholders can also take part in the Competition as supporting members of the group creation. They could share ideas and brainstorm for creating innovative leather products. They will complete an online application form (1B. Application form for people interested in cooperation with idea originators) for cooperative stakeholders. It must contain the following information:
– interested stakeholders data,
– experience in implementing innovative projects,
– area, in which an interested stakeholder would like to support project originator,
– description of stakeholder’s role in the project – 300 characters maximum including spaces and punctuation.
6.2. The small business plan – Stage 2
6.2.1. The participants (individuals or groups) will formalize their creative ideas using a template for a small business plan (2A. Small business plan template).
6.2.2. The business plan should address the following areas:
– project title*,
– idea of the project and its innovation – 350 characters maximum including spaces and punctuation,
– market analysis – 150 characters maximum including spaces and punctuation,
– target market for a product/service,
– estimated revenue and costs of the project,
– possibilities of project financing,
– crowdfunding goals and its justification,
– proposed rewards for sponsors of crowdfunding.
6.3. The presentation – Stage 3
6.3.1 The PPT presentation (3A. Presentation template) (6-10 slides) should address the following areas:
– explanation of the innovative leather idea,
– explanation of the target market,
– the purpose of the crowdfunding campaign.
6.4. The small business plan and presentation will be promoted through the VCC platform, partners websites and social media. The audience will be required to vote online.
